Dates & Prices

The dates listed below refer to time spent on the ground in India and exclude days for international travel. Our listings therefore refer to the first day of activity, and the length of our Courses corresponds to the actual number of days when photography tuition is available.

GeckoWorkshops Courses for the Year Out begin and end in Kochi, in the South Indian state of Kerala. It is the responsibility of the participants to reach Kochi on the starting day of the course and to inform GeckoWorkshops of their flight number and time of arrival. Courses starts in Kochi from the early morning of the day listed, and end on the specified date by normal check-out time.

What is included in the fees

Registration, accommodation, Backwaters cruise, tuition in small groups of 6 (70 hours on site study for the 2 weeks Land Course; 140 hours for the 4 weeks Land Course, and an additional 35 hours for the Bangaram Extension), all overland transfers by private a/c mini-bus, entrance fees to museums, all visits, activities, boat rides, excursions and evening lectures as described in the itinerary. All meals (breakfast, lunch and supper) starting from lunch on the first day, and gratuities. Use of Swimming Pool, Library, Billiard Room, and access to free Yoga lessons.

What is not included in the fees

All Flights and Entry Visas to India. Return flights and boat transfers to Bangaram Island for the Bangaram Extension. Beverages, all photographic media, water sports, Ayurvedic treatments and insurance. (For insurance requirements please see our Terms and Conditions).

Bangaram Island Extension only

Transfers and Entry Permits to the Union Territory of the Lakshadweep are handled by our host CGH Earth. The costs per person for these are approximately as follows: £150 for return flights Kochi-Agatti, (including Entry Permits), and £20 for boat transfers Agatti-Bangaram-Agatti. Please note that prices of internal flights are subject to variations linked to currency fluctuations. Flights and boat transfers must be paid for directly to CGH Earth upon arrival; travellers’ cheques and all major credit cards are accepted.

Further information

The group is composed of a minimum of 8, and a maximum of 12 participants accompanied by two tutors.

A doctor is on call at all CGH Earth properties, with the exception of Bangaram Island where, in case of emergency, a doctor may be flown in from Agatti.
